Mundo Bita is a children's entertainment project created by musician and designer Chaps Melo from Pernambuco in 2011. Since then, he has released dozens of music singles that have earned several Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Double Diamond certifications with millions of singles sold. Mundo Bita was born in Recife, Pernambuco, in the studios of Mr. Plot, a content production company founded by Chaps Melo and three friends ― João Henrique Souza, Enio Porto and Felipe Almeida ―, all parents who understood that there was a demand for quality children's entertainment content. The big move came when Chaps had the idea of ​​bringing back that chubby character with an orange mustache, wearing suspenders and a top hat, who was on the wall of his daughter's room, created in 2010. It's safe to say that Bita is the same age as Anabel, Chaps' oldest daughter. Chaps says that the inspiration for Bita came from O Grande Circo Místico, a favorite album by the amateur musician at the time. In 2010, Chaps and some friends decided to start a company to produce children's content. According to him, they wanted to do something original, new and different. That's when Chaps showed the characters he had created to illustrate his daughter's room shortly before she was born, and everyone really liked them, because they were different from everything else available at the time. That's when they named him Bita. Initially, he was going to be the hero of a digital book, but the idea didn't work out and was only saved when, in 2012, he decided to try bringing him to the screen with music videos. The son of a pianist and an industrial designer, Melo has always been involved with music and had a band, but he never imagined he would make a living from it. He decided to compose some lyrics and melo's melodies and test the idea. "It's still a very artisanal work, done slowly and with a lot of care, research and affection," explains Melo. The name of the magical character came later: with the character chosen, the name was given. Bita was a player from Náutico who Chaps' father liked a lot. According to him, it was not a tribute to the team or anything.
