There are at least 2 artists under the name 'Moyra' 1) Moyra - Seattle, WA USA Why the name, Moyra? Making it in the music business is like a roll of the dice, luck of the draw, or fate. Moira, is the personification of fate; four friends, who came together to make the music they love. So they took the name, altered the spelling, and became Moyra. Moyra originally started out with Dominic, Ehme, and their friend, Jason Brace in New Mexico. In the early stages of the band, the members would coordinate writing and recording through the internet due to Brace’s career. Brace was a sound engineer for acts such as Evanescence and Mary J. Blige. But while on the road, it became difficult for Brace to dedicate time to the band, so he backed out to focus on his own career. Around this time, Dominic and Ehme decided to relocate to Seattle, Washington, where they teamed up with Jessy and Jason. With all the members in place, Moyra began writing new music and have begun performing locally. They have played house parties and venues throughout the greater Seattle area. In late 2008, Moyra made an in store performance at a local Hot Topic. Moyra has steadily built a local fan-base and is on track to continue that trend through 2009 after having booked multiple shows already. ‘The Moyra EP,’ was recorded and put together in 2008 and a self-produced video is in the works for one of the songs featured on the album.
