Mournful Moon is a black metal band shrouded in gothic mysticism and night folklore. Formed by Constantine Betsas, and joined by Thomas and Michalis, the trio conjures melancholic yet powerful compositions, blending atmospheric black metal with a deeply emotional and romantic spirit. Their debut album, Rose Velvet Dynasty, was released in 2022 after three years in production. It blends melodic black and death metal elements with lush keyboards and ambient textures, drawing listeners into a world of faded velvet and spiritual longing. The interplay between piano and guitar melodies showcases Constantine’s compositional depth, delivering a sound rooted in dark romanticism and introspection. In contrast, 2025’s Twilight, My Passion embraces a rawer, more immediate black metal sound. Faster and more primal, the album evokes forgotten rites and nocturnal folklore beneath a pale moon. Though more stripped-down, it retains Mournful Moon’s poetic soul, channeling melody through tremolo riffs, cold atmospheres, and haunting vocals.
