Originally Monroe Brown started out as "The Monroe Brown Medolic Exprience". They are a local band out of the southwest Georgia area (Albany). They did a lot of small venue shows in a lot of bars throughout Georgia and north Flordia. They got a huge break in early 2000's at a Sevendust concert. Element 80 (a band out of South Carolina) was supposed to open for Sevendust but their bus got snowed in so Sevendust needed an opening act, luckily all memebers of Monroe Brown were there. They got to open up for Sevendust. Monroe Brown was one of the first bands to come out of the south with a Emo"esk" sound which i feel started the spark into the large amount of "screamo"/"emo" type music that has taken form in the "Alternative Culture" we know today.
