Mirrorsessions are an original four piece who emerged mid 2004 on the Wollongong scene piecing together influences from Pink Floyd, Muse and Led Zeppelin.
Started by classically trained guitarist and vocalist Adam Hendry and rhythm guitarist Nicholas Russo from a mutual fondness of Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, they soon found something unexpected. They were later joined by Grant Malfitano on drums, and a revolving line up of bass players without Visas, before settling on Conservatorium trained bassist Rhett Keen.
The band began to create music that quickly separated them from their predecessors and contemporaries due to their uncanny ability to fashion musical soundscapes from a foundation of carefully chaotic rhythm noise, frenetic drumming, a cutting lead that is as emotional as it is accomplished and a scream that threatens to tear it all apart.
Landing key supports with Something For Kate and The Sleepy Jackson, Mirrorsessions have gained notoriety for their breakaway sound and have succeeded in reminding audiences that musicianship and artistic integrity did not fade away with the circulation of power chords and distortion...
Their music has been described as visual, climactic and passionate.
"The atmospheric, spacey rock flies and dreams, coming across like a tight, magical, once-in-a-lifetime jam." - The Brag
"Tormented vocals, chunky Muse riffs and Pink Floyd solos." - The Drum Media
