Minor Chill (Mika Koistinen) was born in 1986, in the city of Kuopio, Finland. He studied classical piano and music theory in the music academy for three years, but quitted two weeks before graduation due personal conflicts with the academy. He started to write his early works in the academy, which consisted mostly classical etydes and preludes. In the late 90's he discovered the use of computer in composing and started to learn producing with the aid of his godfather Tomi Malm; a professional composer/producer, who has worked with bands such Nuspirit Helsinki. 2001 is the year he started the Minor Chill project. A project mainly consisting chillout music, but which has moved more towards to experimental recently. In 2004 he was recognized as an artist by the city of Mikkeli, where he lives and works. He has worked with other musicians such Valveuni, Intriga and a hiphop-group named Tragedia, and has composed the full soundtrack to the short movie Eräpäivä (Sunnuntai productions). Lately, his tracks have been found by some internetradios and radiostations such KXLU (88.9 FM) in the USA.
