In 2000, Katsuya (guitar, vocals), Ryou (guitar, vocals) and Shougo (drums, vocals) met at university, and formed Mimichiri Bouzu. Heavily influenced by bands such as Nenes and Rinken Band, they wanted to combine their much-loved Okinawan music, and create an original sound. They became immensely popular in 2002, and, after taking a break, decided that they needed a fourth person. Shirou (keyboards, vocals) was brought in in September, 2004. His lively performances at their gigs, and the addition of the synthesizer, meant that new musical avenues were opened up for them. Unfortunately, now, because of Ryou's work obligations, the group is taking a break. Read more on Last.fm.
