Mike Swale was born in England in 1952. He began making and recording music in the '60s with the help of a pair of tape recorders, layering tracks by bouncing between machines. In the '70s he became acquainted with musical electronics after acquiring a phaser effects unit built by his brother. Highly impressed by the phaser sound, he taught himself basic electronics and went on to build an ETI4600 synthesiser - a five year project. In the early '90s, he discovered the joy of an Atari ST computer connected to an Akai S950 sampler. With the advent of the new millennium came Propellerhead's Reason, which has been his software of choice ever since. He currently produces psy-ambient-dub electronic music.
