Mike Lombardo has been banging on pianos since before he can remember. After graduating a year early from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in songwriting, Mike set to work sharing his music with listeners all over the world via the internet. Mike Lombardo has been banging on pianos since before he can remember. After graduating a year early from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in songwriting, Mike set to work sharing his music with listeners all over the world via the internet. Known for his quirky yet addictive piano rock tunes, interwoven with thoughtful ballads, Mike makes use of Creative Commons to allow his fans to collaborate, create new things with, and share his music.
Mike is cofounder of the music networking site "Too Much Awesome" which has become a "New-Model" music hotspot.
Mike is a regular challenger in FRED Entertainment's Masters of Song Fu and his Stephen-Fry-Tribute-meets-Coldplay-parody "Viva La Fry" was chosen to be the title track of the forthcoming Viva La Fry album, organized by Nuts On the Road. The track also garnered attention from Stephen Fry himself.
Mike's trio's second full-length album, "Songs for a New Day,"
recently on DFTBA Records.
On February 16, 2012, it was announced MiLo was "the target of a federal child pornography investigation focusing on his alleged exchange of naked photos with underage female fans." He has not been officially charged. Two days after Hank Green, one of the co-owners of DFTBA Records, put up a statement on his Tumblr blog stating that the company had removed Lombardo's music from their website because they "didn’t feel it appropriate to continue our business relationship given the situation."
