Bielefeld, Germany, 2004... Janni's interested in electronic pop raised in the early ninties, under the impression of the 'Chrorus'-LP from 'Erasure'. In 1994 he bought an old Synthesizer (Yamaha SY-22) and an old Atari ST. For a year he produced some rather boring Synth-Pop, failing in developing an interesting sound. Then Janni was blown away by the big 'Green Day' and 'Offspring'-Wave. So he listend and wrote Punkrock; his synth and atari collected dust for quite a few years. After getting divorced from the a punkrockband in 2001 Janni wanted to continue writing and releasing songs. He buyed himself some new synthesizers and started where he left 6 years ago. It took him 2 years finding a way creating music. Quite randomly he namend himself 'Mighty Janni', needing a name urgently for his first show in 2004. His music is a inconsistent mixture of classic 80-synthpop, an electronic Singer/Songwriter approach and some leftovers of his punkrock-phase. His lyrics are almost all about love, always trying to find some clever analogies on this ever-fresh topic. Mighty loves to play live, though he does rarely. Through the last years, he got himself a real band for live-shows, adding a lot of excitement to his formerly dull karaoke-shows. Read more on Last.fm.
