Born in Liverpool in the UK. As a teenager he played with friends and local bands. Through one of his friends he joined a band in Ireland. This led to an introduction to a wider range of music from many different cultures. He now lives in the south of Ireland in Clonakilty, West Cork. Matt has worked with many well known musicians in the area and in particular Roy Harper who he has toured regularly with both as the opening act and to play lead guitar alongside Roy. 2007 saw Matt release his first full length CD "Blue Stars" an instrumental album which uses a range of styles from blues, jazz, folk to reggae. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Matt+Churchill">Read more on Last.fm</a>.
