Mark Rapp is an American jazz trumpeter. Dubbed the "top emerging jazz trumpeter" by Downbeat magazine, Rapp describes his sound as "…bridging the gap between modern jazz and contemporary music. There’s a wide division between the two, both artistically and in the audiences - I’m connecting the best of both worlds." Rapp’s goal is to make his compositions memorable. Played with fire and passion, they coax the listener into a world of improvisation. Visually, Rapp navigates this performing art landscape with charisma and sexy sophistication. Through his poetic melodies, solid grooves, honest playing and even with the exotic sounds of a didgeridoo, Rapp engages everyone from layman to critic.
