Winner of the First Prize (ex-equo whit Kirill Rodin (USSR)at the 8th edition of the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow (1986), Mario Brunello is the guest of major European, American and Japanese venues, and appears with leading orchestras and such conductors as Semyon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Valeri Gergiev, Carlo Maria Giulini, Eliahu Inbal, Marek Janowski....Read more on Last.fm

His repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary composers and he is also a highly active chamber musician.
Highlights of last seasons include a European tour in Duo with the violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann, extensive tours in the Far East and Japan, where he is regularly invited every season, and recitals in Italy, France and Germany.
Recently, Mario Brunello was named Principal Guest Conductor of the Kioi Sinfonietta in Tokyo.
Mario Brunello is the founder and conductor of the Orchestra d'Archi Italiana, since its very first performances highly acclaimed by both audience and press in Italy and abroad.
Mario Brunello studied with Adriano Vendramelli and Antonio Janigro.
