Marianas Rest is a Finnish death doom metal band formed in Kotka, Finland, in 2013. The band's musical style is characterized by melancholic melodies with doom and black metal influences. Band History The band released a demo recording, also titled Marianas Rest, in 2014. Their first album, Horror Vacui, followed in 2016. Keyboardist Aapo Koivisto, who also plays with Omnium Gatherum, joined the band in 2015. The band toured with Dark Tranquility in 2017. In April 2018, their next album was announced and released under the name Ruins on Inverse Records in April 2019. The third and fourth albums, Fata Morgana (2021) and Auer (2023), were released on Napalm Records. Aaron Stainthorpe, singer of the British band My Dying Bride, appeared as a guest vocalist on the final track of the album, "Auer, Sirens." The band's 2024 Doom of the North tour took them to nine European cities with Aeonian Sorrow. In June 2025, the band signed with the German record label Noble Demon.
