Maggat was a four piece band from Hersbruck, Germany, whose style transitioned from a hardcore screamo sound to a mellow post-hardcore tone. They have been playing together since their earliest school days, at least some of them. The band was formed in November of 1996, and after they going through three different bass players, they finally ended up in a stable formation. They recorded their first 7" in 1997, which was then followed by a release of their LP in 1999 and even put out a split 7" with another German band, 125, Rue Montmartre the same year. Meanwhile they had grown, they now offered a somewhat altered sound. What was previously rough, yet great songwriting now had transformed more into distinctive, well-structured songs that provide the intensity that you might want to hear when listening to music. They split in March of 2001 after recording their final songs, which are available on their EP titled "The Consultation Hours". Read more on Last.fm.
