Asyrion Malik Hogan (May 12, 2006 – July 8, 2024), professionally known as Lil Scoom89, was an American recording artist from Chicago, Illinois. Lil Scoom was raised around the Germano Millgate Apartments on the Southeast Side of Chicago and associates himself with a set called Burley Boyz, named after one of the streets the Germano Apartments are located. Asyrion Malik Hogan (May 12, 2006 – July 8, 2024), professionally known as Lil Scoom89, was an American recording artist from Chicago, Illinois. Lil Scoom was raised around the Germano Millgate Apartments on the Southeast Side of Chicago and associates himself with a set called Burley Boyz, named after one of the streets the Germano Apartments are located. He also has close ties to other sets such as BloodHound 079, Drench Gang, and ShortyMobb, which are active in the surrounding area. Lil Scoom started his music career on April 20, 2023 with the release of his first single, “Roeblock Cappas.” In the same month, on April 29, 2023, he released his first project, LongLiveDaBully, named in homage to one of his friends, 7Moe, who was killed almost two weeks prior to the release. On October 13, 2023, Lil Scoom released his second project, Welcome Home Baby Blowskii. Lil Scoom started gaining traction in his music career following a feature on NoLimit Faro’s December 4, 2023 song, “What they on,” which racked up over three hundred thousand views on YouTube. Later that same month, on December 22, 2023, Lil Scoom’s career hit a new level with the release of his hit single, “Nightcrawler.” It later became his first song to hit a million views on YouTube. At the beginning of 2024, Lil Scoom signed with Signal Records, a sub-label of Columbia Records. With his popularity continuing throughout 2024, Lil Scoom went on to release his third project, Welcome to Buttonland on May 7, 2024, which included a feature from fellow Chicago artist MAF Teeski. Close to midnight on July 7, 2024, Lil Scoom was shot following an argument on the South Side of Chicago and was later pronounced dead on July 8, 2024 at the hospital. He was only 18 years old. On July 24, 2024, Lil Scoom’s management team released his first posthumous project, Nightmares Over East, featuring artists VonOff1700, Skrilla, Screwly G, and more.
