A Breakcore/Breakbeat/Gabba/Drum and Bass/Dubstep DJ/Producer from The UK. Influences range from Punk, Electro, Dub, Rave. Also Goes By The Names DJ Kynky, !< y n !< y, syknyk or quite simply !<. He is currently producing bootlegs and trying to create a new genre fusing together gabba, metal and drum and bass with varying results, he is also popping up in locations around Gloucestershire. He began listening to electronic music from an early age, with early favourites being Jean Michel Jarre & Kraftwerk, by the time he had begun secondary school he had started listening to more mainstream music but still preferred the unorganic sounds of synths over strings. In 1991 he discovered the Rave Scene and began collecting flyers and buying/copying mixtapes, with his favourite DJs being Mickey Finn, Top Buzz, Tango & Ratty. It was'nt until 4 years later he got his first set of decks and began mixing. At the age of 16 he was hosting his own parties, running the local pirate radio station and attempting to make happy hardcore and gabba, although some of the tracks were rather basic they still followed the 1992 diy ethos that he maintains to this day. Even though he is no longer active on the Happy Hardcore/Gabba scene, his DNB is still laced with old skool rave influences and he will be Hardcore til he dies. Roll forward to 2010 and he still DJs and Produces, mostly for his own benefit although he still plays the free party scene, he also compiles the highly succesful Strictly Drum & Bass Playlists on Spotify. Spotify Playlist site Sharemyplaylists.com even feature him as a regular with his much listened to 'Strictly BASS' playlists. He has a host of mixes available on mixcloud under his alias syknyk and the same mixes available on mininova to download posted under kynky. In 2013 his mixtapes have been downloaded over 250'000 times from Mininova alone (http://www.mininova.org/user/kynky) all of his 2013 mixes were played live over the internet via the site Mixify and he will continue to release his mixes this way. Read more on Last.fm.
