Koppen joined the Metronomicon-collective in 2003, when he released his first CD-R entitled «Truck drivin' songs», a title which was in fact stolen from a cassette bought at a flee market. The songs were mainly made on a computer using a sequencer and an extensive collection of silly samples, but also with the use of acoustic instruments like banjo and melodica. Koppen displays a wide range of musical influences, ranging from scary industrial sounds to circus-music. There’s also a certain leaning towards more traditional folk music, which one probably can trace back to Koppens past as a ramblin' man. He has always worked in close proximity to producer Sissyfus (aka the Center of the Universe). Their collaboration was even more apparent on the second release «My fashion statement is scrambled eggs», yet another title stolen from somewhere else. The third and latest album "Let's eat crazyroom!!!It's time to be cool like a boy" is funky, bright, in your face(fez?) block of sounds, funny lyrics, cheesy saxophones, subatomic bass, groovy beats, complete with japanese slang and cutting edge artwork. Read more on Last.fm.
