KING FAMILY consists of five members: Mikey (23), his sisters Angie (21), Jazzy (18), Tasha (16) and his brother David (14). None of the band were born in either England or Germany. Mikey, Angie and Jazzy were born in India, Tasha and David in the Ukraine. They never attended a school because most days they were on the road and also because many of the countries they lived in were non-English speaking countries. Nevertheless they speak fluent English, German, Russian and a little Polish. Everyone was home schooled by parents Michael King (English) and Irmgard King (German). Both parents have been active missionaries in Brazil and India since the early 1970s. The music of KING FAMILY is edgy Pop Rock with three and four part harmonies. With a mixture of ballads and up-tempo songs, the band offers a broad range of original music! All songs on the album were written and composed by KING FAMILY themselves. Mikey does most of the song writing but David and Tasha compose and write as well! There are two reasons why the band is called KING FAMILY. The first is that their surname is KING, the second is that a few generations down the line, their great grandfather was King James I. of England. Since 1997 the five siblings have been singing together in more than 26 countries. They have done over 3000 concerts in festivals, schools, theatres, prisons and countless TV shows worldwide. In 1998 they were offered a record deal by SONY USA, but this was rejected by the parents due to the fact that their children were too young; considering David, the youngest member in the band, was only two years old. 2003 Mikey decided to take over the song writing for the band. In 2007 they signed their first record deal with EMI Music Germany. In January 2008 their first single „Carry Me Home“ came out, and in April their second single „Perfect Day“ was released.
