Killerpilze (German for "Killer Mushrooms") is a German pop rock and pop punk band from Dillingen an der Donau, Germany. The band was formed in October 2002 in Dillingen an der Donau. Their name was reportedly inspired by a night spent eating pizza. In their early years, Killerpilze performed songs in both English and German while touring locally, balancing their music career with school. On July 7, 2004, the group recorded its first album, "Von vorne durch die Punkallee," and performed in small concert venues until signing a record deal with Universal Music. In 2005, they recorded their first official album, "Invasion der Killerpilze." Their debut single, "Richtig Scheiße" ("Really Shitty"), released in spring 2006, reached number 14 on the German charts. The band’s second album, "Mit Pauken und Raketen," was released on July 27, 2007, and also debuted at number 14 in Germany. In 2008, their song "Verrockt" appeared on the German soundtrack of the Disney film "Camp Rock." In 2010, the band founded its own label, KillerpilzeRecords. The same year, they released the single "Drei" on February 12 as the lead track from their third album, "Lautonom." Later in 2010, Killerpilze returned to the studio to record their fourth album, "Ein Bisschen Zeitgeist." The group has also participated in social campaigns, including "Kein Bock auf Nazis" ("No Support for Nazis") and "Punk Macht Schule" ("Punk Goes School"), the latter supporting the construction of schools in Ethiopia. On 6 September 2019, the band released its eighth album, "Nichts ist für immer." In May 2019, they had announced that the subsequent tour would be their last for the time being.
