As a record label honcho in the 90s he was responsible for negotiating the release of Frank Zappa's discography in Brazil. As an executive at the record label Trama, he was responsible for bringing dozens of indie rock releases to the country, from labels such as Matador (Cat Power, Pavement, Pizzicato Five, Stephen Malkmus, Cornelius), Rykodisc (Morphine, Meat Puppets, Galaxie 500), Jeepster (Belle & Sebastian) and Sub Pop among others. Kid Vinil was also responsible for bringing the sound of Tom Zé back into the music radar, producing several of his records at Trama.
He died in São Paulo, on 19 May, 2017, aged 62.
