Singing and playing at the piano, Kevin Thomas Cavanaugh is a San Diego singer songwriter that has been entertaining the southern California area the last ten years. Appearing at The Turf Supper Club, The Caliph, Martini's and various clubs in the Palm Springs and Los Angeles area, Cavanaugh also appeared on season three of VH1's "Flavor of Love".
His retro lounge act, "BLUE VELVET" appeared at the popular gay club - Bourbon Street in Hillcrest - on Saturday nights and was featured on the premiere show of NBC's "America's Got Talent" in June 2006 after catching producer Simon Cowell's eye.
Cavanaugh's original "pop" music is heavily influenced by Burt Bacharach, Elton John, Elvis Costello with a nod to Michael Buble, The Carpenters and Morrissey. Included in his catalogue is an orchestral arrangement of The Smiths classic "William, It Was Really Nothing".
Cavanaugh is currently with family and friends in Michigan and is currently recording twelve new songs for his upcoming "New Songs for Karen Carpenter" CD after breaking an arm in a Monday night bowling league game. The CD will be released in MAY 2009. Read more on Last.fm.
