From www.karmapilot.co.uk:
Based around the writing of multi-instrumentalist Daniel Vincent, the music of Karma Pilot brings together diverse influences from psychedelic and progressive rock, electronica and dance and acoustic songwriting.
The new Karma Pilot album, A New Career, was written and at various times throughout 2005 and 2006. During this time two EPs have also been released: Between The Darkness And The Morning Light and Midnight Paranoia. Drawing comparisons with other artists is sometimes difficult - Karma Pilot's genre-crossing music has to be heard to be appreciated - but fans of diverse artists such as Pink Floyd, Aphex Twin, Mansun, A-Ha and Porcupine Tree will certainly find something to enjoy in Karma Pilot's music.
The Karma Pilot project started in January 2005 when former Onion Jack guitarist Daniel began work on "Between The Darkness And The Morning Light", a four-track EP that would become the blueprint for Karma Pilot's sound. Recording multi-layered keyboards, guitars and vocals over processed drum loops and sequenced electronic drums, the EP fused modern guitar rock with an element of retro-electronic experimentation resulting in Daniel's most ambitious work to date.
The second EP Midnight Paranoia followed in May. A three-track release containing the 18-minute title piece and two studio cuts, it displayed a harder edge, and also, in the case of the first track, a nod back to a progressive rock past.
