Born in Tehran (1969), started playing the Piano at the age of six. He studied the theory of music under the supervision of Behbud Family and after graduating from high school he moved to England and then Turkey, where he attended the Bilkent College of Music. Karen continued studies in Hacet Tepe Music Conservatory (Ankara) where he met some of the most famous Turkish musicians and conductors such as Hikmet Shimshek, Kemal Eroughlu and Enver Tufen. Leaning on their experiences, he continued to learn more about Harmony, Counterpoint, Forms as well as playing the Piano. After coming back to Iran, he went on with his studies with Amir Sarraf and Mehran Rowhani. Karen's professional career began in 1994 in the Film Industry, where he composed more than 30 movies and TV series scores so far and was awarded twice for best music composition from the prestigious Annual Iranian Film Academy Awards. کارن همایونفر آهنگساز ایرانی متولد سال ۱۳۴۷ در تهران است. او در سال‌های ۱۳۸۶ و ۸۷ در جشن خانهٔ سینما برای فیلم‌های «ژانی‌گه‌ل» و «خاک آشنا» تندیس بهترین موسیقی متن را دریافت کرده‌است و در سال ۱۳۸۷ برای موسیقی فیلم «زادبوم» سیمرغ بلورین جشنواره فیلم فجر را از آن خود کرده‌است. وی پس از اتمام تحصیلات دبیرستان برای ادامه تحصیل در رشته موسیقی به انگلستان و سپس به ترکیه رفت. همایون فر از سال ۱۳۷۴ به آهنگسازی فیلم نیز مشغول می‌باشد. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Karen+Homayounfar">Read more on Last.fm</a>.
