Jude Johnstone (born in Bar Harbor, Maine) is an American singer-songwriter. Her songs have been covered by a number of artists, including Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Bette Midler, Johnny Cash, and Stevie Nicks. Johnstone wrote the #1 song "The Woman Before Me" on Trisha Yearwood's debut CD. Johnstone is an acclaimed songwriter with covers by Stevie Nicks (Cry Wolf), Bonnie Raitt (Wounded Heart), Johnny Cash (Unchained), Bette Midler (The Girl is On to You), Trisha Yearwood (Hearts in Armor), Jennifer Warnes (The Nightingale), Emmylou Harris (Hold On), and a Radio & Records #1 song with "The Women Before Me" by Trisha Yearwood. Her 2002 debut CD "Coming of Age" was featured on NPR's Morning Edition and reached #5 on Amazon's Best Seller List. Her 2005 release "On a Good Day," generated impressive media buzz resulting in her national television debut on CBS's The Morning Show. Jude's songs "Wounded Heart," "The Nightingale," and "In This House," were featured in episodes of the Lifetime Network's hit television series "Army Wives."
