Named after the street that they practiced on, Jonesboro consisted of DK (singer/guitarist/ and I believe regrettably, the principal songwriter of the band) Safechuck was the lead guitarist who was often inebriated before shows. Salvador was the bassist who just learning how to play bass at the time. Dinkel was the drummer, the youngest of the four, who still really likes to play the drums. Jonesboro was formed ages ago in a quiet suburban town. DK was writing songs and got his friends to play songs with him. Their first public appearance was at a venue called "Lazerstar" where they played their hits such as "Parasite" and "Breakdown" to a modest gathering of friends, family, and children playing skeeball. The legendary Lazerstar performance was followed by a show at the Cobalt Cafe to the same group of friends and family, and coincidentally one of the children who was playing skeeball was there to see another band and promptly left as they hit the stage. Jonesboro had nowhere to go but up at this point, and ascend they did! The next gig was on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. At none other than The Roxy. After much practice on their impressive thirteen song set list and numerous practices at Sound Arena, that band members frequently forgot were scheduled, they were ready. Who knew what the future had in store for Jonesboro. It turns out it was exactly the same thing that just happened. Another show at The Cobalt Cafe and another show at The Roxy. To avoid forgetting the songs they wrote they headed over to Curt Piar's Proving Ground Studio and over two days and many many takes, the songs were recorded and five songs were chosen to be included on the one cd that exists of Jonesboro to this very day. All of a sudden Jonesboro went up in flames... ...From the ashes of Jonesboro rose the amazing DKSP (who was probably saving all his good songs for his solo project) and 27th Precinct. Read more on Last.fm.
