John Lunney has been making music on an ongoing basis since 2001. Before that, he just played around with ConcertWare and other Mac music software. Then he discovered Propellerheads' Rebirth and set about using it to make actual songs. He made songs with Rebirth for several years, discovering what was possible with the intentionally-limited instruments provided by Rebirth. Then he moved to Reason for all his music-making. Nearly everything he makes these days is entirely in Reason. He has been using Reason for 4 or 5 years now, and he still learns new things most times he uses it. Of late, he has been trying out other music software, like Ableton Live.
