Irina Emeliantseva (Russian: Ирина Емельянцева) (born 26 October 1971 in Seltso, Bryansk Oblast, Russia) is a Russian composer and pianist. She studied piano at a music college in her home town. She won the regional piano competition for best interpretation of Prokofiev's works. She studied composition (under Prof. Sergei Slonimsky) and piano (under Eismon) at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. In the final years of her studies she worked as Prof. Slonimsky's assistant. She graduated in 1999. From 1996 to 1999 she took international master classes in Germany, Russia, and Ukraine. She participated in various festivals and concerts, giving first performances of works by Dittrich, Messiaen, Roslavets, Lutosławski, Humel, and other composers, as well as her own works. She received commissions from Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur (“Farbtonvarianten” for Henri Matisse painting "Ivy in Flower") and young.euro.classic festival at Europäischen Musiksommer Berlin (“Lichtsplitter” for violin and piano) She was Composer-in-residence (2007) at Künstlerhof Schreyahn (supported by Niedersächsischen Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur).
