Invent Animate (originally spelled as Invent, Animate) is a progressive metalcore band from Port Neches, TX, formed in 2011. After their formation they immediately began working on their debut EP Waves, which was prominently featured on djent-oriented blogs at the time of its release one year later. The band's debut and sophomore LPs Everchanger and Stillworld were released in 2014 and 2017 respectively, with the latter being their last record with founding vocalist Ben English who departed from the scene - albeit returning 8 years later, forming a thall project called PEUR with Invent Animate's guitarist Keaton Goldwire. Ben was replaced by former Aviana vocalist Marcus Vik, who made his debut on the band's third album Greyview in 2020. One year later, IA released a three track EP named The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was, which became their most acclaimed record of all time. The followup, Heavener came out in 2023, which skyrocketed the band into becoming one of the most popular metalcore bands in the modern scene. Since then, Invent Animate has released a split EP with Silent Planet called Bloom in Heaven, and they are currently recording their 5th studio album. Current band members: Marcus Vik (vocals), Keaton Goldwire (guitar), Brody Taylor Smith (drums), Caleb Sherraden (bass) Read more on Last.fm.
