In First Person was formed in New Jersey in 2005 by Tom (The Assistant, You & I), Jake (Dreams Forever Drowning), and Vanessa (The Wage Of Sin). Shortly after, Benn ([ artist]A Petal Fallen, Pyramids) joined on bass, filling out the band's sound. The band eventually settled back into a three-piece after Jake left the band in 2006. The band recorded the majority of their releases with this lineup, including the LP Lost Between Hands Held Tight released on Paramnesia Records. After several tours and releases, Benn stepped down from the band in 2008. The final lineup of the band would include Rob (The Assistant, The Jonah Complex) on bass. The songs on The Last Record were written with Rob but were never officially released, as the band parted ways in 2009.
