iB101 (aka irrelevantbitch101) is the project of Danish-Malaysian singer, multiinstrumentalist, producer and songwriter Martin Tangsgaard. With unapologetically blunt lyrics backed by lo-fi pop soundscapes and souled out harmonies, iB101 wastes no time calling out detractors and naysayers. Born in the last days of 1999, iB101 is a child of the internet. The musical material is playful and catchy, drawing inspiration from The Emotions and Prince in the same breath as Nicki Minaj and Shania Twain. And like a true millennial, iB101 writes, records and produces most of the music on his phone. Touching upon subjects such as personal values, insecurities, sexuality, addictions and race, iB101 has a unique talent of bringing serious matters into a light and playful universe.
