House of Laurence are a psych-rock quartet hailing from Melbourne. Their self titled EP utilizes raw and powerful guitar fusion with the two leads and bass intertwined with a strong, sporadic drum beat, creating a lucid, hypnotic , dream- like, psyche trance, which makes you feel like your floating through the wind. The harmonious vocals and catchy melodies furthermore add to the bands enchanting sound. This psychedelic light is magnificently contrasted with the dark side of rock, as the band shifts tempo and the guitars’ sound gains intensity, moving you from a gentle sway to heavy head banging. It’s this grand duality and their vast variation that make House of Laurence mesmorisingly magical. It’s a 70’s rock revival on acid, paying homage to the bands influence of Pink Floyd.
