Hlidolf is a one-man project from Norway active from 2002 to 2004, which may be characterized like a true apocalyptic drone ambient. Listening to the sounds of a really slow and distorted guitars, combined with a lot of huge... deep drone samples, can be compared with awaiting of the end of our native galaxy. The feelings of some distant doom from the cold, silent space is absolutely clear. Nothing can stop it because this deadly funeral of ourselves is almost done. The marvelous music and sounds on the Hlidolf's album V01D, is his last saying of goodbye to us... to our planet... to our galaxy... but on the other hand, it's a hymn to saying hello to everything, what is lying far, far away.
