Guttural Implosion was the solo experimental grindcore project of Brutaljoe. It began in the late Fall of 2007 as xOutragex. During the Summer of 2008, Brutaljoe began work on new material, which ultimately resulted in one 2-song demo called "Splattercakes!" (inspired by a curiously named dessert served at a local restaurant). Both songs are grind "mini songs" typical of the genre. "Kentucky Fried Cruelty" includes distorted guitar strains in the vein of death metal, while "Taking Back My Life" takes influence from the early 90's screamo scene. Both songs were sporadically written without any overarching sense of structure or discipline. A third song, "Misogynistic Bullshit", was compiled, but Brutaljoe deemed it too similar to modern death metal to fit with the others, and now considers the track abstract art without a specific genre. Due to lack of resources and wavering interest in the project, GxIx dissolved after the release of "Splattercakes!". Read more on Last.fm.
