Grupo Limite, formed in 1995 in Monterrey Mexico, defined the style and set the pace for pop norteno music throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. With a power-norteno base contrasted against the almost falsetto high-pitched vocal style of lead singer Alicia Villarreal, the group catapulted to star status, unlike anything else on the market.
