Goldenboy is one of the following: 1. An indie pop band that toured with Elliott Smith. During that time, Smith took to calling frontman Shon Sullivan by the nickname "Goldenboy." The name stuck as Sullivan developed his sound and added members to the Goldenboy lineup. Smith was instrumental in getting the band's first album, "Blue Swan Orchestra," recorded. Goldenboy recently released a follow up record, entitled "Underneath the Radio," including guest spots from Neil Finn, Lisa Germano and Matt Sharp (The Rentals). 2. A pop punk band from Bergen, Norway. The band consists of Torkel Hofslett Thowsen (Toke) - guitar, vocals; Bjørn Tore Taranger (bt) - drummer and percussionist; Nils Flåm - bass, vocals; Jostein Røen Hauge, guitar. Formed in 1999, while studying music at Bergen College, lead-singer/songwriter Toke meet a few metal heads in choir practice and convinced them to form a pop-punk band. Within a year, goldenboy's released their first EP, "Entertaining Your Girl," and another the following year entitled "Never Ending Happy Ending." After the two European releases, the band made the bold move to head to the states for their first U.S. tour. With no releases, following or label support, they booked an entire west coast US tour. Upon returning to Europe and touring there a few times, they released their EP "Sending Love Across the Waters," and headed back to the U.S. again, this time playing shows everywhere from Illinois to Texas, and California. With all this, it wasn't until Perry Leenhouts and Vincent Koreman of TRAVOLTAS took an interest and offered to produce their first full-length that the band found their true sound. 3.
