Freddy (of Dunedin, New Zealand)has been playing his style of "Alt. Country" in venues for around a year but countless 'wee small' hours over the past half decade or so have given him a deep reservoir of lyrical and musical material. Not wanting to fit into the "mature" or "adulterated" areas of acoustic performance he tends to prefer a boozy crowd of people having as much fun as he is than a serious, "click your fingers in appreciation for the tortured artist" type audience. An eclectic mix of influences can be noted: Johnny Cash, Gillian Welch, Tom Waits, Mark Lanegan and a whole galaxy of Punk, Metal and Rock n' roll music. Hence song names such as "I Love Slayer" and Smells Like Teen Binge Drinkin'". The glossy, overheated thumping of sexuality in our culture is less about connection than consumption. 'Hot' means fuckable and sellable. Stop talking trash about Paris Hilton and create your own sexual identity... Freddy Fudd Pucker is a white male with a guitar. He writes and sings songs. He thinks he's way better at it than he is...
