Two bands exist with the name For the Weekend. [1] For The Weekend are an indie rock band from Manchester, UK. Formed in 2008, they have been building a reputation from a variety of local talent shows, headline gigs at venues such as Manchester Academy 3 and most recently supporting The Clone Roses at The Heywood Civic Centre and playing for BBC Blast. [2] For The Weekend are a band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada: For The Weekend emerged out of Calgary's tightly knit music scene in the early months of 2010. Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, For The Weekend has crafted a cool sound and exciting live show which has captured the attention of the local indie scene. With each member arriving from previous bands of a variety of genres including pop and hard core, For the Weekend's sound now reaches several platforms of music ranging from pop, indie and punk. For The Weekend's first brief release of their self-titled EP took place in the summer of 2010. This EP was the first glance into the stylings of For the Weekend, with catchy vocals hooks, melodic guitars and a driving hard hitting beat. However, For the Weekend's sound is always evolving and guarantees a very dynamic and exciting pop/rock oriented next release.
