F451 (originally Fahrenheit 451) are a British Essex-based political indie/punk/rock band named after the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The band are Jon (drums, vocals), Jez (guitar, vocals) and Matt (bass, vocals) and released four EPs: The New Empire (January 2005) ,The Catastrophe EP (January 2006), The Battleground Is Everywhere (February 2007), Think. FIght. Live (August 2007) as well as a digital single "The Digerati" (November 2007). Unreleased tracks were also uploaded to the internet after this. The band knew each other from a previous band and formed in August 2003 while going to separate universities. They had a strong work ethic and played 150+ gigs, recorded 6 CDs, and had tours in the South of England and Slovakia. Towards the end of 2007 things wound down and the band amicably disbanded, holding a final farewell gig in September 2008. Matt and Jon have gone to form indie/rock band The Library Suits with previous bandmates Rich and Paul (http://www.myspacecom/thelibrarysuits), while Jez has concentrated on writing books and solo material (http://www.jezkemp.co.uk). The band cited groups such as Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild and Muse and writers such as George Orwell, Anthony Burgess and Aldous Huxley as influences upon their musical style and lyrical content. Read more on Last.fm.
