Everyone Tough are from Hialeah, Florida. They were formed in the midst of a short film production between Joseph Oliveros, Taylor Andre, Edrey Vega, and Luis Colina. They were producing a film for a school project based on the book Grendel by John Gardner, but set it in a 70s Punk style. The members were not content with using other music for their film and decided to create their own. They recorded all of the sounds for their short film in one afternoon from memory alone of how the movie looks and how it would sync up. The result was a highly improvisational, No Wave symphony that ended doing the short film justice. The short film, called Gemini--after the corresponding astrological sign of chapter 12 in Grendel, the chapter the film was based on--was also the name of their debut album.
