Electralyte continue to push forward both sonically and interpersonally. This 4-piece from Essex are proving to be a popular attraction in London and the surrounding areas with their unique brand of classic songwriting blended with angular guitars, left of centre chord progressions and rhythm that's sure to get you moving!
"[This band] utilise the same prog-indie sound as a lot of Muse copyists but unlike most of their peers they've got tunes (very uplifting ones n' all). Hard hitting and emotive stuff." - Bugbear Promotions, Nov. 2008.
Electralyte can regularly be seen turning out with their grass roots following at venues across the capital, taking in the Water Rats, the Hope & Anchor and the O2 Academy Islington in support of bands like Officer Kicks (recent support for Razorlight, The Hoosiers). At home Electralyte are beginning to stand out as one of the fore-runners of the local music scene playing on invitation at Club NME Barhouse, receiving a nomination as Best Band in the Panic Magazine Awards 2009 and getting regular air-play week-on-week on BBC Essex Introducing (Fridays 7pm, 103.5FM).
In the Autumn of 2009, Electralyte will be heading on a tour of the South-East in support of BBC three's decision to use one of the bands latest tracks on the soundtrack of their new sitcom 'Fresh'.
The depth of Electralyte's musical arrangements produces a sound-scape that is as thoughtful and diverse as the sharp lyrical content. The songs come across as a combination of indie, dance, rock, electro referencing recent bands such as Bloc Party, Magistrates, Franz Ferdinand, Haunts and the Arctic Monkeys. Throw on top of this the melodic finesse of performers such as The Jam, Blur, The Carpenters and Rufus Wainwright and Electralyte's musical connection is made.
Electralyte are:
Matt Leeder - Vocals, Guitars
Dave Griffiths - Guitars
Paul Leverett - Bass, Vocals
Jon Mitson - Drums, Vocals
