There are multiple artists using the name Echthros: 1) Lingering agony and Indigenous rage fuels every droning sonic experiment of ECHTHROS. The voices of residential school survivors are sampled throughout their work, haunting the doom-noise sounds like memories that must never be forgotten. “Teeth Agape” is a crushingly severe single of droning anger that goes for the windpipe with sheer electronic violence. 2)Echthros is a drone doom project from Poland, founded by Bartosz Frąckowiak. Its first release, titled "Iyov" (from Church Slavonic Іѡвъ, the biblical Job), merges dark ambient and drone doom metal with Orthodox choral music. It was first released as free download on June 29th, 2011. Re-released on January 28th, 2012 in a hand-numbered limited edition, on Assonance Records.
