“Don’t ask any questions, just
Ear Dis…”
Ear Dis, the multi-faceted production duo from North London are no strangers to Dance music. Broken Beat / Nu-Jazz has simply become an inviting fresh canvas for their eclectic methods of musical expression.
Roxy “Arms” Harris
, a producer, session drummer, vocalist, programmer and songwriter, has played drums live with international artists Vanessa-Mae, Omar, Jamelia, David McAlmont plus many more. He has also performed on TV with other world wide entertainers from the UK Club music scene including Mis-Teeq, Daniel Bedingfield, Artful Dodger, Craig David; and, of course his production partner, Spoonface, the voice of Black Legend.
Spoonface
has had international recording success as Black Legend with his reworking of the Barry White classic “You See The Trouble With Me” reaching No. 1 in the UK and achieving chart success all over Europe. He was also a part of the music collective known as Commonwealth whose first single, “Anthem” was a top 10 hit in Tim Westwood's Hip-hop chart on Radio 1.
Roxy highlights the melting pot of cultures and influences that London is. Having grown up in the eighties listening to bands like Central Line, Level 42 and The Police, exposure to the soul of Motown swirled together with the mid-nineties Jungle and UK Garage scene have resulted in the open-mindedness of this young, sharp, musical drummer/programmer.
Spoonface’s creative versatility has already been further showcased with his screen partner Kaspa in Trouble TV’s interactive game show, “Freakin’ Famous”. This experience and his wide appreciation of varying forms of music have encouraged his affiliation with Broken Beats.
Roxy and Spoonface met during a Top Of The Pops performance several years ago. Since then, their collaboration has spanned shows with Commonwealth and now music production with Ear Dis.
Ear Dis also run their own record label, WunnaDemWuns, which enables them to collaborate with like-minded producers and artists.
Their first single is the underground club classic, "Hey Girl" due for release 12th November. Out on Gut Records (www.gustorecordings.com) with remixes from Arms, Spoonface, JC and the Soul Seekerz.
