DJ MMORPG is also known as DJ Belz (Drum & Bass), Neuralspectre (Experimental IDM) and In Virus Tandem. Although DJ MMORPG began playing piano at age 5 and learned many other instruments along the way, his journey into electronic music began in 1994 when the Experimental Electronic band “Wrack Process” was formed. He later created the solo project In Virus Tandem aimed at expressing his interest in IDM (or Intelligent Dance Music). During his attendance to local Denver House and Jungle parties in the mid to late 1990’s, DJ MMORPG grew interested in the Denver underground dance scene in which he learned the ways of the DJ. After cultivating a unique style of hard and dark drum & bass he teamed up with DJ Baloo to bring Denver the darker side of drum & bass in which the other DJ’s at the time coined the music they played: “clangy crap” and vowed to remain loyal to their “jump-up and “ragga” style D&B music. Playing his arsenal of 12” vinyl at Denver dance clubs such as “Bash” and the “Snake Pit” with world renowned artists like Dieselboy and Mickey Finn, DJ MMORPG, (then using the moniker DJ Belz) helped foster within the Denver Jungle scene a love for the hard & dark tunes being cranked out by acts like Dom & Roland, Ed Rush & Optical and Technical Itch. DJ MMORPG frequently appeared as a guest DJ on the weekly drum & bass show called “SoundDynamics” on Boulder’s Radio 1190 with hosts DJ’s Audeo & Jace. He held residencies with “Weeded Productions” and “Synesthesia Productions” and was often invited to DJ for “Audio Eclipse Productions” (owned by drum & bass DJ Ecco). He later co-formed a drum & bass production company deemed “Mainframe Productions” booking national and local talent for underground parties. DJ MMORPG has since remixed recordings for the artist Testube (former co-founder of Wrack Process) and continues to write original music as In Virus Tandem. DJ MMORPG currently produces dance floor oriented electronic music in various styles including Indie Dance, Nu-disco, Techno, Drum & Bass, House, Trance and IDM. He is available for exclusive material production and has created remixes for chart topping artists with tracks like: Testube’s “Atomic” IVT remix , Testube’s “Off Purpose – IVT BasskitKase Mix” and others. Custom mixes and mashups have also been produced per request for cheerleading and gymnastics routines. While the sonic renderings of In Virus Tandem are somewhat abstract and bizarre at times, DJ MMORPG gathers a wide variety of music to unleash in his continuous mixes.
