Deepwide is an electronic dance music project from Turku, Finland. It was founded in 2003, and is a collaboration by Matti Järvinen and Tommi Hatakka. Matti and Tommi have been friends since kindergarten and work closely together on Deepwide. Their interest in electronic music began in the late 90s, after having been introduced to tracks from acts such as Gouryella and System F. As this interest grew, they were eventually encouraged to start producing by themselves. Although they started producing independently at first, the friends soon found that they could work well together, complementing each other musically. Uplifting sounds, melancholy melodies and groovy rhythms are the central aspects of the Deepwide style.
