About Daniel J Turnbull Dan Turnbull was born in Boston in 1980. He grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts before studying writing and poetics at Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts. Dan Turnbull's sounds are a highly successful hybrid of modern and alternative rock, but nevertheless retain overtones of classical 50’s and 60’s rock-defining Americana sound. Within this context of hybrid, Turnbull produces a charming yet rough-around-the-edges music that captures the best elements of past and present rock music. His lyrics deserve special note, given their capturing originality and the wide array of subjects he delves into.
