Cool Down Daddy was a progressive pop band formed in September 1987 by Sean Beavan, Bruce Somers, Don Cook, Marty Step, and Trent Reznor. By 1988, Trent Reznor had left and Marty Step was replaced by Nick Rushe. The band recorded two demo tapes, one in 1988 and one in 1989. Their song "Sometimes She Smiles" was featured on the 1988 various artists compilation Exhibit C: Ohio's Undercurrent, put out by Play Records. Sean Beavan produced/engineered the following Nine Inch Nails releases: Broken, Fixed, The Downward Spiral, Closer To God, and Further Down The Spiral. Nick Rushe would go on to play keyboards for Nine Inch Nails' "Pretty Hate Machine" Promotional Tour.
