In 2008, Sligh released his first album as a solo artist, entitled "Running Back To You," featuring four redone Half Past Forever songs. This album also features the hit single "Empty Me," which earned top 5 fame on AC Christian charts.
Sligh returned on September 14th, 2010 with his sophomore effort, and first on Word Records, entitled "The Anatomy of Broken."
"The Fro Patrol" is the name for Sligh's avid fans/fan club, which arose during his time on American Idol. They get their name from Sligh's curly afro.
Sligh has also garnered fame as a songwriter.
