When not unleashing high-wired bleep-punk bangers with Spektrum remixing Christina Aguilera and producing Shystie and Lady Sovereign albums, the unwaveringly busy Gabriel Olegavich, AKA Caspa Codina, has also found time to conjure up one of the summer's most eclectic and downright mind-meltingly crackers albums in this debut. A melting pot of modern soul, Tetris drum clapsand dark, sleazyelectro circa '88, it's and album which has taken Olegavich years to complete. Codina comes on like a gloriously unhinged Prince backed up by LCD Soundsystem whlist partying to a grime LP set to 75bpm. 'Caspa Codina' is awash with more ideas than most records you are likely to hear all year, and for this alone should be applauded.
