Formed in 2003 in the city of Itajaí - Santa Catarina the House has six inmates: Darlan Martins H. His compositions are marked by the influence of Jazz, Brazilian and Latin music in general, medieval music, progressive rock, encompassing varied rhythms in one proposal. The songs start from a dreamy, playful and philosophical vision. The Casa began its artistic journey by passing musically the feelings of the members of the group, seeking in their dreams inspirations for their compositions. The name of the band arose from the idea of ​​the book "The Alienist" of Machado de Assis. This is a Machadian critique of the predominant scientism in the nineteenth century. It addresses the exposure of psychopathological dramas experienced by those in power, the Alienist resolves to put everyone in the hospice to "heal them." Ask what madness is. According to the dictionary, Casa de Orates means House of Freaks, crazy. Júlio César Mendonça, historian and drummer, explains: "We are crazy not in the pathological sense of the word, but simply in allowing ourselves to dream, travel and create constantly without giving limits to imagination." After tracing a series of presentations in several cities of the state, participating in festivals and winning Best Music at the University Music Festival of Univali and Best Arrangement in the Regional Stage of the State Festival of Music and Integration of Santa Catarina, the group presented their first professional work, Dreams "a trip to the dream with script, production and compositions of the Trupe Sonora Casa de Orates itself on 11/25/2007. Mixing music, theater and cinema, the band aims to take the viewer to a chimerical plan, where individual dreams become at the same time collective from signs proposed in this show. Darlan Martins, the group's bassist, comments that this presentation is the result of a work with inspirations that came naturally and even collectively. "The stage will be just the step that will divide the band from the audience, but there will be no barrier, just activate the imagination for each one to create his own story," he adds.
